Let’s have a look at the specs sheets, prices, and release dates of these phones across the continent of Africa. Follow along as we unpack this year’s Tecno flagship device Phantom X2.
TECNO Phantom X2 and TECNO Phantom X2 Pro Specifications
There are not so many differences between these two phones. The Phantom X2 Pro and the not Pro version has similar looks and design-build. The major difference is that the bespoke retractable camera is only available for the pro version’s portrait camera. The X2 Pro camera has an accent color on one of the lenses as well. The quickest way to differentiate the two phones is the color of the phone. Phantom X2 comes in two colors Stardust Grey and Moonlight Silver meanwhile the Phantom X2 Pro has Mars Orange and Stardust Grey. Below are the full key specs of the new Phantom X2 and Phantom X Pro. Availability
In Uganda, the Tecno Phantom X2 is set to be released in January 2023, and social media teasers have been dropping with the specs and highlights. In Nigeria, the pre-orders for the Phantom X2 are ongoing at ₦ 25,000, and here is the list of all stores in Nigeria that are accepting the pre-orders but my best guess, is the phone will be launched in January 2023 as well. We will update the post frequently with the release highlights of the phone. Tecno Phantom X2 and the X2 Pro are currently available in South America and are expected to be released in India before the end of December 2022.
TECNO Phantom X2 Price
Phantom X2 cost about $720 and the X2 Pro is $930. In Nigeria, that is about ₦ 320,000 for Phantom X2 and ₦ 415,000 for the X2 Pro. However, expect this to cost slightly more when the phones are released early year. In Uganda, that is about UGX2,630,00 for the Phantom X2 and UGX3,390,000 for the X2 Pro. People see the Tecno brand as a midrange or budget brand but seems like they are planning to change that perspective by jumping into the flagship market. This is truly the first time they are charging a higher market price for their flagship phones. For most people the moment a Tecno phone crosses the upper echelon of over 500$ or over two million Ugandan Shillings, they cease to buy and start thinking of established brands like Samsung and iPhones.
