Depending on your Internet connection, the update itself (Build number: X604-H633H-P190114V160, Android Security Patch level dated 5th January 2019 shouldn’t take more than an hour maximum to download. I can’t say how it might be for you but the installation process and app optimisation took the better part of 3 hours for me. My advice is to set it up and forget about your update for a little while. Read more:

Android Pie: A Few Key Features You Should Know
One of the main selling points of Android Pie is the Digital Wellbeing set of tools. These tools which comprise Dashboard (highlights daily screen time, number of notifications you get and how much time is spent on various apps, Wind Down (tools to prepare you for bed e.g. Grayscale to fade your screen to gray and muting notifications and calls), Do Not Disturb (silence notifications and calls) and App Timers (set a daily limit to using your apps). Another major highlight of Android Pie is the Battery and Brightness feature. Adaptive Battery utilises machine learning to predict your battery usage habits in order to prioritise only most-used apps. Adaptive Brightness learns how you set your screen brightness in different environments and then automatically does it for you over time. With Android Pie, Apps with access to your phones camera, microphone and other sensors will be prompted to show a persistent notification when in use. In the same regard, these apps will be restricted from doing the same quietly in the background. Android Pie introduces a number of security features such as biometric authentication (more on this in a later post), and encryption of Android backups with a client-side PIN/Pattern/Password for improved security. Furthermore, Android Pie unleashes a bunch of system enhancements including a new navigation system consisting of a single home button, a rotation button even when orientation is locked, revamped volume and power controls. Last but not least is termed Slices, preemptive suggestions of your favorite apps to the surface in other apps.
