If you really wanted to play Apple Music on your Google Assistant-enabled smart speakers, the best option was to simply pair your smartphone with the smart speaker via Bluetooth. Then you could play music from your phone to the speaker. That’s how I’ve been using it at least. Now with the Google-Apple Music integration, users with Google Assistant-enabled devices like Nest Audio, Nest Hub Max, Nest Mini can Play Music by issuing Google Assistant voice commands. First, you’ll have to link your Apple Music account in the Google Home App. Then you can say something like “Hey Google, play New Music Daily playlist,” or “Hey Google, play Rap Life playlist.”. Google Assistant will be able to play any specific song, artist or playlist available on Apple Music. You can also play music based on genre, mood, or activity. Now, to get started, first you need a running Apple Music subscription. Then a Google Assistant-enabled device like Nest speaker and finally the Google Home App with the Google account that’s linked to your Nest device. To set up Apple Music on Google device;
On your iPhone, iPad, or Android device, open the Google Home app.Tap Settings.Tap Music.Under “More music services,” tap the Link icon next to Apple Music.Tap Link Account.Sign in with the Apple ID that you use with Apple Music and follow the onscreen steps to complete setup.
If you want to set Apple Music as the default music service on Google home, then;
On your iPhone, iPad, or Android device, open the Google Home app.Tap Settings.Tap Music.Under “Your music services,” select Apple Music.
I tried linking my Apple Music account to Google Home this morning, but the option wasn’t available for me. Perhaps, it hasn’t rolled out to Uganda yet. The Google press release states that the service is rolling out in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany and Japan. Image: Pixabay
