In this article, I will share the names of the phones, their specs, prices, and where to buy them in Uganda. It is worth noting that Xiaomi markets their phones with different names. You will see names like MI, Redmi, or Xiaomi — all these are from the same parent company, Xiaomi.
1. Mi Note 10 Lite
Getting Xiaomi’s Mi Note 10, the world’s first 108Mp camera phone is very hard, most especially in Uganda. Thankfully, the Lite version which shares many notable features with the Mi Note 10 is readily available in Uganda. The major difference with the Mi Note 10 is the 64Mp quad-camera model down from the 108Mp. It has a huge 5,260mAh battery with 30W fast charging. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor and uses a 6.47″ AMOLED display. 2. Redmi Note 9
Speaking of budget smartphones with great specs, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 9 shouldn’t miss in that conversation. It comes with a well-designed plastic body, a 48MP quad-lens camera set-up, and has a 3.5mm headphone jack among other features. 3. Redmi Note 9 Pro
This is the upgraded version of the Redmi Note 9 and obviously comes with better specs and a slightly higher price. It offers ridiculous battery life from its 5020mAh battery, a huge display, and a 64MP quad-lens rear camera, among other features. The Redmi Note 9 Pro costs between UGX 900,000 and UGX 1,000,000 and is available on Jumia and select smartphone shops around the country.
4. Redmi 9
This is one of the most affordable Xiaomi-branded smartphones. Just like other Xiaomi phones, it has a list of impressive features. 5. Redmi 9C
This is a newer and improved version of the Redmi 9. It comes with a massive 5000mAh battery and runs on the MIUI 12 based on the Android 10 OS. The smartphone comes in 6.53 inches size and the display is IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that provides 720 x 1600 pixels resolution. The Redmi 9C costs between UGX 600,000 and UGX 800,000 and is avilable on Jumia and select smartphone shops in the country. It is worth mentioning that this article only highlights the price ranges of the aforementioned smartphones.
